چکیده

The equation of state for quark matter is derived for a nonlocal, chiral quark model within the mean field approximation. Special emphasis is on the occurrence of a diquark condensate which signals a phase transition to color superconductivity and its effects on the equation of state. We present a fit formula for ’Bag pressure’, which is a constant in case when the quark matter is not color superconducting. We calculate the quark star configurations by solving the TolmanOppenheimerVolkoff equations and demonstrate the effects of diquark condensation on the stability of hybrid stars for different formfactor models of quark interaction. Cooling of Neutron Stars with Color Superconducting Quark Cores

We show that within a recently developed nonlocal chiral quark model the critical density for a phase transition to color superconducting quark matter under neutron star conditions can be low enough for these phases to occur in compact star configurations with masses below 1.3 M⊙. We study the cooling of these objects in isolation for different values of the gravitational mass and argue that, i...

Quark Condensation, Induced Symmetry Breaking and Color Superconductivity at High Density

The phase structure of hadronic matter at high density relevant to the physics of compact stars and relativistic heavy-ion collisions is studied in a low-energy effective quark theory. The relevant phases that figure are (1) chiral condensation, (2) diquark color condensation (color superconductivity) and (3) induced Lorentz-symmetry breaking (“ISB”). For a reasonable strength for the effective...

We study the cooling of these objects in isolation for different values of the gravitational mass and thus differe...

Effects of quark matter and color superconductivity in compact stars

The equation of state for quark matter is derived for a nonlocal, chiral quark model within the mean field approximation. We investigate the effects of a variation of the form factors of the interaction on the phase diagram of quark matter under the condition of β equilibrium and charge neutrality. Special emphasis is on the occurrence of a diquark condensate which signals a phase transition to...

1-2-3-flavor color superconductivity in compact stars

We suggest a scenario where the three light quark flavors are sequentially deconfined under increasing pressure in cold asymmetric nuclear matter as, e.g., in neutron stars. The basis for our analysis is a chiral quark matter model of Nambu– Jona-Lasinio (NJL) type with diquark pairing in the single flavor color-spin-locking (CSL), two-flavor (2SC) and three-flavor color-flavor locking (CFL) ch...
